Description
What It Is
Color Camo is a demi‑permanent hair color formulated especially for men to camouflage or blend gray hair.
It’s ammonia‑free, uses protein & quinoa oil to help strengthen and add shine.
Shades / Coverage & Results
-
Available in a range of natural and ash tones (available shades are in dropdown menu).
-
Gives gray blending if processed for ~5 minutes; for darker shades or more full coverage, leave it on up to 10 minutes.
-
The result is a more natural‐looking color with gradual fade and no harsh “regrowth” line.
How to Use
-
Wear gloves. Mix Color Camo with a 10‑volume developer in a 1:1 ratio.
-
Apply to towel‑dried hair, sectioning in small parts. Begin application where grays are most visible (temples, hairline). Avoid overlapping previously colored hair.
-
The processing time starts either immediately after full application or after about the first 3 minutes of applying, depending on direction.
-
For lighter shades or just blending grays → ~5 minutes. For darker or more complete coverage → up to 10 minutes.
-
After processing, rinse, then shampoo and condition (ideally using Redken Brews / Redken’s men’s haircare line).
Benefits / Features
-
Quicker application than many permanent dyes (5‑10 min) → good for low maintenance.
-
Ammonia‑free → gentler on scalp / hair. Helps with durability: gradually fades rather than abrupt lines of regrowth.
-
Adds strength and shine (from proteins and quinoa oil) so hair doesn’t feel overly damaged by the coloring process.
Things to Note / Limitations
-
Since it’s demi‑permanent, color will fade with time and washings; might need touch‑ups.
-
Very dark shades might need the full 10 minutes to cover grays well. Lighter or ash shades might result in more subtle blending.
-
Color won’t lift natural hair color; it works by depositing pigment, not by bleaching. So results are limited by your natural hair level and existing color.
Developer Required:
You must mix Color Camo with Cream Developer 10 Volume in a 1:1 ratio.
Why the Developer Is Needed:
-
The developer helps activate the color so it can penetrate the hair and deposit pigment.
-
Color Camo is a demi-permanent color, meaning it doesn’t lift your natural hair color — it just deposits pigment — but it still needs a mild developer to work.
-
The 10 Volume developer is gentle enough for gray blending but strong enough to give consistent, even results.
Do Not Use:
-
Do not use a higher-volume developer (like 20 or 30 vol.) — it’s unnecessary and could damage the hair.
-
Do not use without a developer — the color won’t process correctly or at all.
